Students can mater the pronunciation of the words “tiger, sister, dinner, computer,water”.
Students can know the pronunciation of the group of letter “er”
Ability aims:
Students can can find “er” in the words nd read these words correctly.
Students can come up with more words with “er”.
Emotional aims:
Students learn to cooperate with others and find the interest of having a pronunciation class.
Teaching key points and difficult points:
Key and Difficult points:
Master the pronunciation of the words “tiger, sister, dinner, computer,water” and know the pronunciation of the group of letter “er”.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Warm-up and Lead-in
Greet students as usual and invite students to listen to a chant. And ask the questions: what’s on the TV? –tiger. What is the tiger doing?-dinner Today we will learn how to pronounce it correctly.
Step 2 Presentation
Show some pictures and elict the words “sister, water, computer,” Ask students to find out the similarity among these words, and they can see all these words have “er” at the end of the word. Then read them after the teacher, and students can realize the group of letter “er” pronounces as /ə/.
Step 3 Practice
1. Play a game with students to practice the pronunciation of these words, the name of the game is “play the piano”.
2. read the words on the exercise and underline the letter group “-er” 
Step 3 Production
1. listen and finish the sentences on the textbook.
2. let students think out more words with-er.
3. do a group work : use words we learn today to make sentence according to pictures. Such as: a tiger is drinking water from the river. Let’s see who can use most words in a sentence.
Step 4 Summary and homework
Summary: Invite one of the students to review the chant used at the beginning of the class.
Homework: Ask students to read these words by themselves and write two sentences with at least two words with-er in each sentence..

Step 1: Warming-up
After greeting students, the teacher shows a picture of the little match girl and asks students who she is. Then ask them if they know this fairy tale, and they can have a free talk.
Step 2: Presentation
Tell the story of Little Match Girl by using pictures. Long long ago, there was a little poor girl selling match, but nobody bought. She felt cold and lit a match to get warm. Here ask students: what did she see in the light of the flame? Through picture, students will say: a big dinner and a glass of water. Then continue the story. Soon the light went out, and the girl only saw cold wall. So she lit the second match. Here ask students: what did she see from the flame this time? Through picture, students will say: she saw her family. There was her father, mother, brother, and grandmother. The little girl threw herself into grandmother’s arms and went to paradise with her.
The story is finished. Students can see several words on the blackboard: dinner, water, father, mother. Ask students to find out the similarity among these words, and they can see all these words have “er” at the end of the word. Then read them after the teacher, and students can realize the group of letter “er” pronounces as /ə/.
Step3: Practice
1. Show more words with the group of letter “er” and let students to read, such as tiger, computer, river, ruler. Then ask them to think of more words with “er”.
2. play a game: use words we learn today to make sentence according to pictures. Such as: a tiger is drinking water from the river. Let’s see who can use most words in a sentence.
Step4: Production
Do a chant with students:
My mother is a teacher, my father is a cooker, my brother is a driver, and my sister is a dancer. My families all love each other!
